What is the Daily Log?
The Daily Log page is your cyber training journal; it is your space to enter all of your training data. The more you enter the more you can graph and analyze later to make your training even more effective.
The Daily Log has the following features and allows you to record the following data:
- Weekly Training Goals- Create your three weekly goals and check them off as they get accomplished.
- Weekly Summary Box- This area keeps a running total of your weekly hours and training distances. It also lists the hours from your ATP (Annual Training Plan) for that week so you can compare Actual to Planned training volume. At the end of each week you can also enter how you felt for the week (Over trained, On edge, or OK) and what if anything bothered you.
- Daily Metrics- At the top of each day's log is a group of little boxes to record how you feel. The subjective metrics (Sleep, Fatigue, Stress, Soreness, and Overall feeling)are scored on a scale of 1-7 (7 being bad); If you record three or more boxes with a five or higher we advise you to take the day off from training. The objective metrics (Pulse, Body Weight, Hours Slept, Systolic Blood Pressure, Diastolic Blood Pressure, and Altitude Slept at) should be recorded by whatever their actual value is.
- Private Messages- a simple system to communicate with other TrainingPeaks users.
- Workout Description Text Box- This box will display the workout description, if you have entered one from the Workout Planner page, or if you are working from a Pre-Built Training Plan.
- Athlete comments Text Box- Use this box to record your how the workout went and any other journal information you wish to record.
- Workout Data Box- Swim, bike, run distance boxes are available to enter your training distances. In addition Average watts, Max watts and Kilojoules for bike data are available if you have a power meter.
- Time By Zone- Boxes are available on the right side of the Daily Log to enter your time spent in each of the five heart rate intensity zones by sport. Note- These zones are established by opening the Training drop-down menu and clicking on HR and Power Zones.
- Upload Training Data- TrainingPeaks.com provides the ability to have data Uploaded from your downloadable training devices. For more information on how to upload training data, go to: How to Upload Workout Data
