Uploading and Downloading a Polar File
At the bottom of this page we list which method of uploading and downloading we recommend for each Polar device.
Polar Upload from Daily Log
To upload your Polar data file to your online account, you will need to have that file in a .hrm format. The Polar Precision Performance software and the Polar ProTrainer 5 software will let you download an .hrm from a lot of their devices.
For more instructions on how to upload a file from your Daily Log, go to: Upload from Daily Log.
To see if your Polar devices is compatible with either the Polar Precision Performance software or the Polar ProTrainer 5 software, go to http://www.polarusa.com/, use the Product Finder in the middle of the screen to select a product, then look for this:
Please note that both of Polar's software products will generate two files for every workout it extracts, one is a .hrm file and the other is a .pdd file. Make sure to upload the .hrm file, not the .pdd file.
How to Download your Polar Device Through Device Agent or WKO+
Make sure that you can successfully download from your Polar device to the Polar Software on the same computer; this will ensure that your Polar device can "talk" to your computer.
If you have a device that is compatible, here are instructions for downloading to Device Agent or WKO+:
- Close all other programs that "talk" to your training devices.
- Then, make sure that you have chosen the "IrDA Interface" in the ports drop-down menu in either Device Agent or WKO+.
- Connect your IrDA stick if it hasn't already been connected.
- Put the watch into "connect" Mode by pressing the lower right button and set the watch down about 4"-6" away from the stick. After a moment or two, you should see the IrDA communications icon appear in the system tray.
- Finally, click the download button in WKO+/Device Agent.
How to Check if Your Polar Device can Upload Through Device Agent or WKO+
If the Polar website http://www.polarusa.com/ shows this for a product, it should be compatible with Device Agent and WKO:
- We recommend the use of the Polar IrDA - USB Interface pictured below for all applicable models when downloading directly to WKO or Device Agent.
- This adapter can be purchase from the Polar website
