SRM

From Peaksware Help Center

SRM amateur and professional systems with Powercontrol IV or V are all compatible.

If you have a Mac, you will need this driver to be installed before Device Agent will be able to read your SRM:

Get the proper Mac driver here:

(The Mac driver should be the second option on the list at the link above)

Tips and Trouble Shooting

General Tips

  • If you are trying to download your SRM to WKO+ and it is causing the computer to freeze up, you most likely have not fully charged the console and cleared the memory before using it. When this happens, the dates and times reported by the console are often nonsensical and inconsistent. This may also occur if the user rides often and doesn't regularly download data. SRMWin may handle incoherent data differently than WKO+ does. But, if SRMWin is able to read the data, then the user should simply drag & drop the resulting .srm file into WKO+ for now and then fully clear the unit's memory and set the date and time using SRMWin's Options dialog. Having done that, they'll likely have better success downloading into WKO+.
  • Please note that because of the granularity of the date/time we can't handle more that 20 days worth of data at once when downloading to WKO+ from your device. Download often and clear your device memory from the software (not just from the device itself) on a regular basis!
  • Are you running WKO+ inside some sort of Virtual Machine setup (something like Parallels or VMWare)? Is this a Vista setup? SRM has only very recently made a Vista compatible driver available at http://www.srm.de/usa/software.html. If running under Parallels or VMWare, we suggest that the user become in the habit of exiting the application before pausing or hibernating.

Baud Rate error

If you are getting an error message having to do with your "baud rate" try these steps: First, make sure that your SRM is awake when you try to download into WKO+; it needs to be AWAKE AND on the main screen, and it needs to be fully charged. Otherwise, there is a voltage issue and it will throw the 'un-able to determine baud rate' error.

Second, try changing the recording rate on your SRM. Change it to 1 second. Do this in the SRMwin Software. Then try downloading again in WKO+. Make sure you have the correct com port and power meter type selected.

If that doesn't work, then try this:

Try changing the baud rate in your Com port. To do this go to: START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>HARDWARE>DEVICE MANAGER Then click on the '+' beside the COM PORT. Look under port settings. Change some stuff under there and see what happens. Just test it a couple of different ways.

If you are using the USB/SERIAL cable, make sure that your computer updated the correct drivers. Also, make sure that your not having trouble with the SRMwin software also; if you are, please contact SRM for further help.

Progress bar stops half way, then shows 100% completed

  • When you download to WKO+, the new SRM firmware frequently misreports the number of records that are to be downloaded by exactly half. Thus, once the counter reaches at least 50% and the unit times out with no more packets available, I move the progress indicator to 100% rather than toss an error. In other words, what he describes is the expected behavior.
