WKO Releases
From Peaksware Help Center
What's New or Changed?
Important information for Vista users
Since it's inception, CyclingPeaks and WKO+ have always stored user files under the application's Data directory.
For example: C:\Program Files\CyclingPeaks WKO+\Data
This presents issues for users now running the Microsoft Vista operating system and upgrading from a previous release of CyclingPeaks, ergoRacer or WKO+.
If this is a brand new installation, and you have no data files created by previous versions of CyclingPeaks, ergoRacer or WKO+, then you do NOT need to run the migration tool and can stop reading now. WKO+ will place your data files into the %USERPROFILE%\Documents\CyclingPeaks\WKO\Data directory automatically.
Once you have installed this release (any release after build v2.1.54), you must run the Migration Tool in order to copy your data files (.wko) into the new expected location. The new location is %USERPROFILE%\Documents\CyclingPeaks\WKO\Data and the Migration Tool will take care of all of the details for you. You will only have to run the migration tool one time. Should you update to a later build (after v2.1.54), you should not need to run the Migration Tool again (for example, upgrading from v2.1.54 to v2.1.67). In other words, the Migration Tool need only be run one time under Vista in order to move the files into their correct location.
If you upgrade to Microsoft Vista after having installed WKO+, you will need to run the Migration Tool at that time. For example, if you install this software now on Windows XP and then later upgrade the operating system to Vista, you will need to run the Migration Tool after having upgraded to Vista.
As always, we look forward to your comments and suggestions. Please write to us at support@trainingpeaks.com.
Release Notes
Version 2.2 Build 94
* Added support for the SRM Powercontrol VI. * Added support for importing .srm (v.7) files from SRMWin. * Updated help files. * Fixed date mixup when importing multiple files of multiple types. * Added link to wiki to help with device/download troubleshooting.
Version 2.2 Build 93
* Improved speed of importing Garmin .tcx files (especially with regards to the 705).
Version 2.2 Build 92
*
Fixed issue where certain combo boxes weren't being properly initialized. For example, the application settings would show device type of '0' rather than stating "disabled" and the combo box itself could not be dropped down.
*
Increased allowable width of Proxy Host field to 256.
Version 2.2 Build 91
* Added support to calculate speed for the Garmin 705 during indoor workouts.
Version 2.2 Build 90
* Added support for importing Garmin Edge 705 .tcx files.
Version 2.2 Build 89
* Fixed charting of Crank Torque channel on the athlete journal distribution chart.
Version 2.2 Build 88
* Increased timeout values on Ground Control.
Version 2.2 Build 87
* Added a new chart size called "Full" which allows charts to take up the whole width of the view. * Fixed .tcx speed omission. * Changed behavior of default perspectives such that if no perspective is the default and charts exist in "My Athlete Charts", "My Athlete Charts" will be the new default perspective. This really only affects persons upgrading from v2.1 on their first run of the application.
Version 2.2 Build 86 (Released January 3, 2008)
* Fixed updating of Power Profile cache. Deleted files were not always removed. * Improved importing of .pwx files coming from GPS devices. * Improved support for Hub Torque and Crank Torque on the Graph view. * Added automatic salvage feature when downloading from Ergomo Pro. Some editions of the EP will sometimes misreport the ride date due to an internal buffer overrun. WKO+ tries to make sense of the condition and respond. However, it would sometimes give up if the latest ride appeared too far out in the distant future and thus exceeded WKO+ internal limits. Now, WKO+ will silently attempt to capture this condition and show you the ride data separately. The ride will appear on the Download dialog with a date of Dec. 31, 2099.
Version 2.2 Build 85
* * Dramatically improved performance when calculating the NGP curve. Fixed enabling of spin buttons when adding first channel to Periodic Chart.
Version 2.2 Build 84
* Added handling for IF (from running), and Normalized Graded Pace to the Performance Management Chart and the Periodic Chart. This includes support for "average NGP", "maximum NGP" and, of course, Mean Min NGP for specific durations. * Added ability to 'skip' the calculation of NGP for Mean Max Charts under certain circumstances. The calculation of Mean Min Normalized Graded Pace is very CPU intensive. The values are cached once calculated. However, you must endure a one-time hit by waiting for the calculation to finish.
Version 2.2 Build 83
*
Changed spacing of x-axis on charts so that labels are not truncated when using certain fonts and displays. * Fixed update chalkboard and modified some behavior. Most importantly, clicking the "Update Chalkboard >>" button will immediately bring you to the chalkboard view and allow you to watch the charts refresh. Next, zoomed charts originating from the chalkboard will not update when the chalkboard is updated. Instead, they will remain static unless you modify them via the customization dialog. * Fixed color system so that non standard colors are always present in the Palette and used when repainting charts, graphs and other UI elements. * Added ability to upload workouts to TrainingPeaks.com directly from the calendar. Right-click on workout, choose "Upload to TrainingPeaks.com...". * Added ability to copy workouts directly on the calendar. Right-click on workout, choose "Copy this workout...". * Added ability to delete a workout from the calendar using only the [del] key. * Fixed drawing issue on calendar after deleting a workout. * Added ability to clone a chart and send it directly to the Chalkboard view in one step.
Version 2.2 Build 82
*
When adding new charts, the new chart will be automatically placed immediately before the summary chart (if on the athlete view) and the window will scroll the new chart into view (if necessary). * Fixed SRM parsing issue and added support for firmware up to 6b09.
Version 2.2 Build 81
*
Updated help file.
Version 2.2 Build 80
*
Fixed positioning of extra Y-Axis scales on the Performance Management Chart and Periodic Chart. * Fixed issue where Mean Max chart doesn't correctly update. This sometimes appears as a newer mean max value not being reflected in the longer second line. Thus forcing the user to manually update the chart. * Added support for charting TSS Combined, TSS Pace and TSS Power to the Periodic chart. * Added support for filtering Periodic chart channels by sport. * Installer no longer runs the Migration Tool by default.
Version 2.2 Build 79
* Added support for importing (via Drag & Drop or File | Open menu) multiple file types simultaneously. * Added support for Garmin .tcx files created by Training Center v3.3.2 (including extensions for supporting the model 50). * Rebranded application to TrainingPeaks WKO+.
Version 2.2 Build 78
* Modified automatic y-scale on graph so that Heartrate and Target Heartrate channels use the same scale. * Increased gap detection trigger for Garmin units to 5 minutes. That is, any sample which follows another sample by more than 5 minutes will be flagged as a gap if they appear within the same workout. This rarely, if ever happens. Smart recording mode, however, routinely contains gaps of over 1 minute which was being flagged by earlier versions as being a data drop out. * Fixed journal summary window to show stats for system (peak) ranges on files not containing a power channel. * Application now adds the date and time that the file was uploaded to trainingpeaks.com to the notes window of the journal. * Added ability to manually override altitude channel data for any range (on the Graph View) based upon a starting elevation and supplied grade. Your device must record a speed (or distance) channel in order to make full use of this feature. Primarily, the feature is designed for footpod users who find themselves indoors on a track or treadmill. * Added ability to discard individual channels from individual .wko files. For example, if you run indoors with a GPS unit, it's very likely that the speed and distance channels will not be accurate. In that instance, you can now delete the speed (and thus distance) channel from the file. * TrainingPeaks subscribers will benefit from the ability to actively use the GroundControl elevation correction service in addition to the US Geological Survey service. Be advised that not all surface areas of the earth are available for GPS correction. And, in additional, Peaksware maintains no control over the availability of the USGS service.
Version 2.2 Build 77
* Added a new summary chart to the Athlete View. Chart displays the most recent six weeks as well as the previous twelve months of useful metrics. * Added support for importing .txt files created by Computrainer v1.6 coaching software.
Version 2.2 Build 76
* Add range level support tool for correcting elevation (Altitude) results provided by GPS devices. Right-click on any range (or selection) inside the range window (Graph View) and choose the "Fix Elevation Profile using GPS..." menu item. * Fixed issue caused when importing multiple file types where some are compound (such as .pwx, .tcx, .hst) and other are not (.wko, .csv,...).
Version 2.2 Build 75
* Added support for calculating Joe Friel's running pace zones. * Enforce minimum pace of 30:00 min/mi (min/km) when entering run threshold.
Version 2.2 Build 74
* Finalized support for LeMond devices including adding new Target Heartrate and KCal channel graphing. * Added "Perspectives" to Athlete Home Page and Workout Journal Views. Perspectives allow you to move charts to more familiar groupings depending upon your own preferences or devices. Consider creating personalized perspectives which reflect your training in a particular sport or perhaps create different charts depending upon the periodization phase of your training cycle. * Added ability to export and import chart settings. * Added ability to specify the default sport for each athlete. * Added ability to specify the default perspective for each athlete.
Build 73
* Improved downloading support for new SRM PCV firmware. * Forcing port enumeration when system configuration disables enumeration via normal methods. * Added charting support for Normalized Graded Pace to Performance Manager Chart, Mean Max Chart and Periodic Chart.
Build 72
* Added Sport Filter by channel to PMC so that one may now, for example, chart Peak Watts and Peak Pace on the same Performance Management Chart. * Added filename to "Unexpected File Format" error message. * Modified downloading behavior for Garmin Forerunner 301 so that workouts are not necessarily combined. Fixed 301 parser to handle runs which arrive out of sequence. * Force serial port enumeration for certain versions of Vista Business/Enterprise. * Removed errant Options menu from Graph view.
Build 71
* Fixed Copy Raw formatting for PMC and Periodic charts.
* Added ability to create Running Pace Zones to the athlete's journal.
o To initially create your running pace zones, click the Options button on an athletes zones window (located on the athlete's journal) and choose View Pace Zones. Enter your threshold running pace. Then choose Options | Calculate Zones | Cutting Edge Runner - PZI.
* Added initial support for calculating TSSpace (ie; "rTSS") on run workouts. (beta)
* "most appropriate" TSS now automatically appears on calendar depending upon device and sport type. (beta)
o For example, a run workout performed with a Garmin F305 will show TSS(pace) value in the "TSS" column. But a cycling workout recorded with an SRM will show TSS(power) in the "TSS" column of the calendar. More information regarding TSS for running will be available at http://www.trainingpeaks.com shortly. However, your device must record speed (e.g. pace) and be designated a "run" workout in order to make use of this feature.
o Manually entered/overridden TSS scores for other sports (such as swimming) are not yet distinguishable from TSS(power).
o All run workouts with manually overridden TSS scores should be individually reset on the calendar if desired.
* Added ability to plot TSS(combined), TSS(pace), and TSS(power) separately on the Performance Management Chart. (beta)
* Fixed situation where Garmin workouts may be skipped after downloading.
Build 70
* Enabled support for graphing Wind Speed and Hill Slope (iBike). * Implemented Edit | Corrections | Fix downhill watts algorthim for iBike (beta). * Updated SRM PCV parser to handle situations where data extends beyond the internal 20 day limit. (For folks who don't clear the memory after downloading). * Implemented preliminary support for importing Lemond device data (beta).
WKO+ Version 2.1 Build 69
* Added missing channel menu item on the View menu.
Build 68
* Fixed TrainingPeaks.com userid/password issues. * Added support for graphing Temperature for the Ergomo Pro. * Added support for additional channels that will be propogated with upcoming releases.
Build 67
* Modified downloading behavior for Garmin Forerunner 205/305 and Edge 205/305 models so that workouts are not necessarily combined. By default, WKO+ automatically combines workouts for all other devices that are separated by a gap of less than 60 minutes. You can change this behavior by modifying the appropriate "MaxGap" registry setting(s). HKCU\Software\TrainingPeaks, LLC.\TrainingPeaks Visual Analyzer\Settings If you find that WKO+ is unexpectedly splitting Garmin originated workouts due to gaps in excess of the registry setting, you may modify the registry setting back to a higher value. Likewise, if you'd like to decrease the gap time for splitting a Garmin originated workout, simply decrease the registry setting. * Extended upper range of altitude channel from previous limit of 10,780 feet. This resulted in a .wko file format change. Thus, versions prior to build 67 may be unable to read files created with this and future builds. * Added trap for situations where distance may be reported as moving backwards. * Added Performance Management Chart to the default list of charts for new athletes. * Enabled upload to TrainingPeaks.com by default for new installations. * Fixed loss of Distance precision bug (for new workouts only). WKO+ now stores distance with precision of hundreths of a meter.
Build 66
* Extended .pwx support for GPS devices. Improved lap accuracy for Garmin Devices.
Build 65
* Changed default gap sensitivity to 5 minutes for Garmin, Polar and Suunto devices. You can change this behavior by modifying the appropriate "MaxGap" registry setting(s). HKCU\Software\TrainingPeaks, LLC.\TrainingPeaks Visual Analyzer\Settings
Build 64
* Fixed SRM ride truncation bug against new firmware (6b08). * Fixed firmware identification for SRM that was causing speed and distance to be halved.

Build 59
* Lengthened duration of serial timeouts when attempting to read from most supported devices. * Added per device-type control over the merging/separating of workouts coming from a single device. By default, WKO+ automatically combines workouts that are separated by a gap of less than 60 minutes. You can change this behavior by modifying the appropriate "MaxGap" registry setting(s). HKCU\Software\TrainingPeaks, LLC.\TrainingPeaks Visual Analyzer\Settings
Build 58
* Added better detection of misaligned packets from Pro300 PT resulting in more accurate duration.
Build 57
* Fixed display of calendar duration so that hundreths of a second are correct. * Added introductory support for Peaksware .pwx files.
